Ukrainian Resource Exchange LLC (URB) participated in a coordination meeting of representatives of the timber processing and logging industries, held on November 7 at the Ukrinform press center. The event was organized by the Association of Exchanges and Electronic Platforms, of which URB is a member.
The meeting brought together representatives of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine, the Forests of Ukraine State Enterprise, as well as representatives of leading timber processing companies and commodity exchange operators.
The main topics discussed included:
- monitoring the performance of exchange contracts in the timber market;
- exchange sanctions policies;
- the operation of a unified account within the risk management system;
- the use of bank guarantees as a means of securing obligations under exchange contracts.
The coordination meeting demonstrated the market participants’ commitment to coordinated action. The participants agreed that the timber market’s exchange infrastructure requires further modernization, and that this process should continue through ongoing dialogue between the government, commodity exchanges, and the business community.
